This workshop will cover some of the unique fundamental ethical and business elements of running a private practice in Israel. The workshop is geared toward new and seasoned therapists alike.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

  • Therapeutic contracts: Why is it important for the client and for the therapist? What should be included in the contract?
  • Ethical will: What is it, why do we need it, and how to set it up
  • Billing issues: Raising prices and collecting overdue payments
  • Working within your professional competence: Knowing when and how to refer out / seeking help from other professionals
  • Working in small communities: Boundary Issues
  • Initial consultation: Screening clients / informed consent
  • Client termination initiated by the therapist
  • Accounting - Understanding how to best structure your business / Osek Patur, Osek Morshe, and Chevra B'Am
  • Record Keeping: Therapeutic, financial, etc.
