DESCRIPTION

The ongoing war affects everyone, including children. This group is designed specifically for pre-teens (ages 11-13) to help them cope with the stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges they may experience as a result of lving in a war-impacted environment.  This group will provide a safe and supportive space for children to process their emotions and learn vital coping strategies.

The program consists of four key modules:

  1. Anxiety and Distress Tolerance Skills - We will begin by learning strategies to cope with stress and overwhelming emotions
  2. Mindfulness and Understanding Emotions - In our second meeting we will explore the importance of recognizing and labeling emotions. We will also discuss the value of staying present through mindfulness practices
  3. Emotional Regulation Skills - In this module we will dive deeper into understanding and managing emotions. We will help participants to enhance the skills learned in the first two sessions.
  4. Effective Interpersonal Skills - In our fourth session we will focus on building skills to enhance participants' communication within their interpersonal relationships.

Parents will receive information about the topics covered in each module, ensuring they can support their child's progress
