I coach and support adults wanting to address a range of challenges (such as anxiety and stress, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem and self-confidence, grief and loss, obsessive and repetitive thought and behaviour patterns, eating disorders and addictions), with the intended outcomes of enabling them to heal from trauma and to experience life in a more positive and joyous way.
The foundation of my approach is to create a safe space for you – my client - to enable you to feel sufficiently comfortable to discuss any issues without fear of criticism or judgement. I accept you just as you are. I see you, I hear you, I feel you. When I’m with you, I am fully present listening to you, giving you 100' of my focus and attention, with your desired outcomes and best interests as my intention.
During our journey together, between sessions I am available to you to provide support, at no extra cost, should you feel overly anxious or panicked (either via messaging, telephone or Zoom).
In terms of the mechanics of my approach, I am well-versed in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which is the basis for most talk therapy practices today. In recent years I have developed a specific interest in healing trauma (which all of us have to a greater or lesser degree) and overcoming addictions, and to this end I certified in Quantum Energy Coaching (QEC). In contrast to CBT, this powerful process works with the subconscious mind where most of our issues lie, and can result in seemingly miraculous change, including healing at the physical level. QEC is my preferred approach given its effectiveness and time taken to achieve desired outcomes (significantly shorter process than traditional talk therapy). However, I use whichever tools and processes are most suitable to you in any given session, and often combine tools and processes so as to address both the conscious and subconscious minds.
The journey I undertake with you results in greater self-awareness and understanding, overcoming and healing the issues you choose to address, possible unfolding of greater meaning and purpose in your life, and the ability to experience life in a more positive and joyous way. My experience encompasses helping clients dealing with anxiety and stress, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem and self-confidence, grief and loss, obsessive and repetitive thought and behaviour patterns, eating disorders and addictions (substance and behavioural).
Underlying all of these issues is trauma of one kind or another, which is at the heart of what I do: helping clients to heal from trauma regardless of at which age the trauma was experienced or even if it was inherited inter-generationally.
In addition to what is written under “My Approach to Helping”, my role is to facilitate your journey towards your desired outcomes. You decide what you want and I help you to achieve it. Our relationship is a partnership on your voyage of self-discovery and personal transformation, wherein we are both equally interested in and committed to achieving your goals.
My sessions are mostly via Zoom, given that my clients are geographically dispersed both locally and internationally. For clients who are located nearby I am happy to do in-person sessions. It is my experience that the efficacy of the sessions is the same regardless of whether it’s done via Zoom or in-person.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on how one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected and can be changed. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition) and how we feel (emotion) can influence how we behave. CBT helps people identify and challenge distorted thinking and replace it with more balanced thinking, leading to improved mood and behavior. ‘Homework’, usually containing practical writing exercises, is often completed by the client between sessions to reinforce the therapy. Examples of tools that practitioners often use are journaling, challenging beliefs, and mindfulness.
Gestalt TherapyGestalt therapy is an experiential, humanistic approach to psychotherapy that emphasizes personal responsibility, and that focuses on the individual's experience in the present moment. It explores an individual's emotions, behaviors, and thoughts, and how they may be influencing one another. It is rooted in the belief that people are responsible for their own experience, and that they can make conscious choices to improve their lives. The goal of gestalt therapy is to help individuals gain insight into their current experiences and to become aware of how their behaviors and thoughts shape their present reality.
