ABOUT

I am a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with more than 20 years of clinical experience in Israel and the US. I am a former Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Department at Tirat Carmel Mental Health Center. I had also worked for five years as a psychotherapist at the medical center of Colorado State University, providing short-term therapy to CSU students.

In my private practice as a psychiatrist, I combine my experience in medical treatment and psychotherapy, and am working with children and adolescents with all psychiatric problems.

I was born in Moscow, Russia, and have lived and worked both in the US and Israel. I am fluent in Hebrew, English, and Russian.

TREATMENT APPROACH

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on how one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected and can be changed. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition) and how we feel (emotion) can influence how we behave. CBT helps people identify and challenge distorted thinking and replace it with more balanced thinking, leading to improved mood and behavior. ‘Homework’, usually containing practical writing exercises, is often completed by the client between sessions to reinforce the therapy. Examples of tools that practitioners often use are journaling, challenging beliefs, and mindfulness.
