If you or a loved one are struggling with any of the following... -Depression -Anxiety/Worrying too much -Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) -Low self-esteem -Perfectionism getting in the way of personal or professional growth -Becoming overwhelmed by decision-making ...I can help! My name is Ariel Penkower. I am a licensed psychologist with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University. I made aliyah in 2012 after working for four years in a thriving group practice in New Jersey. Since then, I have worked with the CBT Institute of Israel and have developed a growing private practice. I am currently accepting new clients in Jerusalem, Efrat, and via Skype. My therapy is grounded in the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a goal-oriented therapy approach that offers short-term, solution-based strategies, as well as options for long-term work. CBT understands and addresses the negative thought and behavior patterns that interfere with our functioning and emotional well-being. This approach will teach you how to replace those patterns with healthier, more positive ways of thinking and being. Throughout our time together, I will work hard to tailor the therapy specifically to your needs, based on a rich understanding of both your history and present concerns. I bring qualities of empathy, optimism, and expertise, key ingredients towards a positive therapy experience. I work with teens and adults of all ages. Please call me to set up a convenient meeting time. I look forward to speaking with you.

Slavery, while terrible, represented a secure existence. By that, I mean that life was consistent, unchanging, certain. A slave will never achieve great things or recognition on a greater societal level, but he/she will also rarely encounter doubt and anxiety.
