Psychologist
I am a psychologist working with children and adults, specialising in the treatment of anxiety and depression, with a special interest in helping adolescents navigate the often turbulent teenage years. Having immigrated to Israel from New Zealand at the age of 14, I feel especially drawn to helping new (or old) immigrants adjusting to life in Israel. I trained and worked in New Zealand as a clinical psycholgogist and my therapeutic approach is flexible, depending on the needs of the individual, ranging from short term Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to more psycho-dynamic oriented approaches. I currently work as a psychologist in a public clinic in Hadera where I also run a therapy group for individuals suffering from anxiety in addition to also work privately in Pardes Hanna and the area.
All of us have developed patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior that have helped us to survive in the past but that often prevent us from truly living in the present. Anxiety often appears when we are unable to free ourselves from these patterns. In therapy, I try to help the client recognise these old and fixed patterns so that new and healthier forms of thinking, feeling and behaving can be introduced. In so doing, the individual can awaken to his or her authentic self that has often been lost or forgotten in the turmoil of the past.
