Registered Psychologist in Israel Mumche Specialty License in Israel
I am a Clinical Psychologist with more than 25 years of experience. I am licensed in the US (Florida and Pennsylvania) and a mumchit in Clinical Psychology in Israel. People come to therapy with me to address anxiety, depression, PTSD and adjustment difficulties. I have a particular interest and expertise in the intersection of mind and body and my work includes coping with illness of oneself or family members. I enjoy working with women in life transitions (from very young adults/adolescents through geriatrics) including aliyah and year abroad. I am passionate about helping people reach their full potential.
My training in Psychology began at University of Pennsylvania. I graduate with Distinction in Psychology as a student of Martin EP Seligman, conducting research on Learned Helplessness and chronic illness. I continued my studies at NYU in the PhD Clinical Psychology program as a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow, continuing my research in Learned Helplessness and working with families with chronic illness. My interest in Psychology began as a researcher and developed into a clinician practicing evidence based treatments. Pursuant to my interest in the mind-body connection, I completed a fellowship in Neuropsychology. Later, I returned to University of Pennsylvania as a Clinical Assistant Professor and the psychologist for the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition and the Liver Transplant Team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the former Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic. I have worked at UCLA and then many years in private practice. My research experience informs my clinical practice to keep my knowledge up to date and evidence based. I continue to pursue continuing education in order to meet the needs of my practice better.
My approach depends on the presenting problem and is determined together with the client. Therapy may include CBT, mindfulness, family systems work as well as psychodynamic psychotherapy. The therapeutic alliance is key to successful therapy and that begins as we determine treatment goals together. My manner is warm, accepting and compassionate. I love my work helping individuals overcome personal difficulties to become their best selves.
