ABOUT THE THERAPIST

I offer a warm, supportive space where children, teens, and adults can explore difficult emotions, navigate life transitions, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves through conversation and creative expression.

My Approach to Helping:

I believe therapy should feel like a safe and supportive space where you can come as you are, without judgment or pressure. My approach combines traditional talk therapy with creative arts therapy, allowing us to explore thoughts and emotions both through conversation and, when helpful, through art-making and creative expression. You do not need to consider yourself artistic or have any previous art experience. I tailor the therapeutic process to each individual, recognizing that everyone communicates, processes emotions, and moves toward change differently.

Specific Issues I'm Skilled at Helping With:

I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, anger, substance misuse, self-esteem and identity concerns, social and behavioral challenges, family difficulties, and significant life transitions. I also have experience supporting individuals adjusting to life in Israel and navigating the emotional challenges that can come with relocation, cultural adjustment, and finding a sense of belonging. My background includes working with neurodiverse individuals and people facing complex life circumstances, grief, illness, trauma, and other emotionally challenging experiences.

My Role as a Therapist:

I see my role as walking alongside you rather than telling you what you should think, feel, or do. I aim to create a relationship in which you feel heard, respected, and comfortable enough to explore what may be difficult to put into words. Together, we can begin to recognize patterns, understand emotions, discover strengths, and develop healthier ways of coping with life's challenges. With younger clients in particular, creative expression can provide another language for communicating experiences that may be difficult to explain verbally.

Additional Information About my Practice:

Originally from California, I moved to Israel in 2009 and have also lived and worked professionally in London. I hold a BA in Psychology, completed foundation studies in art at Machon Avni in Tel Aviv, and earned my MA in Creative Arts Therapies from the University of Haifa. Over the course of my career, I have worked in schools, therapeutic settings, and nonprofit organizations with children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds. My experience in both Israel and the UK has given me a particular understanding of what it can feel like to build a life between cultures. I currently provide therapy in English and offer both in-person and online sessions.

TREATMENT APPROACH

Art TherapyArt therapy has clients express themselves through creative mediums such as drawing, painting, collage, coloring, or sculpting. Clients can interpret their subconscious world that is expressed in their art which could lead to a better understanding of their feelings and behavior. Artistic talent is not a prerequisite for art therapy as it’s not as much about the end result as much as it is about the process. The therapist looks for meaning in the creative choices of the work and the clients’ inner world. This therapeutic method enables clients to express their inner thoughts and feelings through creative expression rather than just talking about them.

Expressive Arts TherapyExpressive Arts Therapy is particularly beneficial for clients who struggle with describing what they are feeling verbally. Through imagination and creation of different art forms, clients are able to interpret and communicate their inner world and catalyze healing. Expressive arts therapy can involve the use of multiple modalities, such as visual arts, music, movement, drama, storytelling, poetry, and play. It is used to help individuals of all ages, including children and adults, to explore their feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior and addictions, develop social skills, improve reality orientation, and solve problems.
