Sleep problems

Hi there,

I'm menopausal and my once uncanny ability to fall asleep- and stay asleep- is gone.  How can I be sure that this is a result of menopause? Should I get a sleep study?  I'm so tired of not feeling rested!

That sounds very challenging to lose sleep that once came so easily. In general, sleep changes during the menopausal season are common, especially if night sweats, hot flashes, hormonal shifts, or anxiety are playing a role. At the same time, there may be more to the story besides menopause, such as stress, sleep apnea or other health factors. Without knowing the details of your specific situation or giving advice, I can say that in general that its best to talk with your doctor about your sleep concerns and evaluate options for next steps, whether that may be a sleep study or trying other sleep support resources, such as sleep hygiene tools, therapy, sound healing or guided sleep meditations. Wishing you clarity and better nights as you continue moving through this season of change.
