My name is Dr. Maya Yaar Golan, and I am a clinical psychologist. I was trained in the US, and have been working in private practice for more than 10 years. I believe in the curative powers of psychotherapy. Finding a safe place to open up, opening up past wounds and processing difficulties can lead to intense symptom reduction and raise the emotional well-being and quality of life in unimaginable ways.
I believe in dynamic psychotherapy, which means working our way into your past, trying to gain awareness of why we act the ways we do, why we have symptoms, and working through those past traumas. That leads to symptom reduction, but also makes sure that the symptoms don't quickly return.
I believe in the mind-body connection, and always integrate necessary modes of therapy such as CBT and mindfulness into my work.
I believe that therapy is an exciting, yet complex journey, one that will allow you to experience life in a fuller, more rewarding way.
