Are you feeling confused, disconnected, lonely, sad, anxious or angry?
You are not alone. If you are like many of my clients, you may dislike your feelings, see them as a nuisance or believe that you would be better off if you could figure out a way to disconnect from them.
You may not understand why you feel what you feel.
Perhaps it was never safe for you to express your feelings and so you never learned to truly care for yourself or your needs.
Your emotions don't need to rule your life in a negative manner. I like to teach my clients that our feelings are our teachers, that they are here to clue us in as to what is off or "on in our lives. Our feelings are here to help us get back on the path of life that we seek. Therapy can show you how to achieve this...
Throughout my years practicing as a therapist I have personally witnessed my clients make profound changes in their lives from the therapy we have done together.
I am a licensed social worker with a practice that focuses on helping individuals navigate and heal from trauma, abuse, life transitions, depression, and anxiety.
I have over 15 years of experience working in a variety of settings from the public sector to my private practice that I run today.
I use an integrative approach which combines many therapeutic modalities that are both verbal and non-verbal. I tend to combine a psychodynamic perspective with a trauma-sensitive approach. I work closely with my clients in therapy to create plans and goals that will best serve your needs. I am extremely client-centered and believe that you are the expert of your experience. I will work together with you to help you remove the layers of armor, defenses and ineffective coping strategies to help you find your healthiest and most empowered version of self.
I look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to my office.
