Psychologist

ABOUT

I am psychologist, experienced in education-related issues. I excel in educational and psychological testing, child therapy and parenting issues. According to the need, I can work with individuals or families. I use a variety of psychological approaches according to what seems most relevant and likely to be helpful, given the context.

I very much believe in “educate youth according (to his or her unique) way.” Yet I have observed that the child’s “way” is often misunderstood, causing “education” to be misapplied. For example, there are numerous reasons why a
child might find it hard to sit quietly in class, yet the assumed cause is often inaccurate or incomplete, causing inappropriate intervention. In fact, I believe that a person stands to benefit greatly throughout his lifetime from understanding his own unique psycho-social profile. Because of this, I encourage my adult clients to explore their profiles, particularly as they impede success in accomplishing life’s tasks, interpersonal relationships or parenting.

Education:

I received a B.A. in psychology from the University of California at Irvine and an M.A. in psychology (which included courses in marriage and family therapy) from Pepperdine University in California. I have continued with post graduate training, qualifying me to work with a range of cases and modalities. For example, I have received training in treating abuse (from both אל”י and חרוב).

Experience:

I worked for 10 years in Charedi kindergartens and Talmudei Torah and Dati elementary schools (including both regular and special education) in various municipalities. Presently I work privately with individuals, parents and children (and sometimes with families).
