Clinical Social Worker

ABOUT

Often times, teens at risk experience feeling unaccepted and misunderstood.  In the decade I’ve spent working with teenagers at risk across varied settings, I’ve learned that the most effective way of bringing about change is by creating an environment of compassion and acceptance.   When I connect to my clients on their level, we build a safe and trusting environment, cut to the heart of the problem, and make real change happen.
In addition to my work with teens, I treat individual adults and couples.  I have experience in educational, non profit, therapeutic, and healthcare settings, as well as drop in centers in three different cities.  This experience enables me to bring a well-rounded approach to therapy.
Often, the stigma of needing help in the first place is so powerful that it can scare people away from helping themselves. Like trips to the hospital in regards to physical health, most people seek therapy only when their mental health is already suffering. I believe in finding simple and creative solutions to the presenting problem, which will allow you the time and frame of mind to confront more underlying issues afterwards, from a position of strength.
