Yocheved Schrader MSCCertified Couples and Family Therapist
My goal as a therapist is to have each of my clients find his or her own inner strengths and resources, recognize them, and be able to draw upon them when needed. I have over 14 years’ experience as an individual and couples therapist, including work at the Domestic Violence Unit of the Family Institute in Jerusalem, Yad L’Em (an organization dealing with post-partum depression and other birth-related issues), and private practice. In a warm and caring way, I help my clients reach their potential and free themselves from the issues holding them back.
I’ve continued to study and incorporate different therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems, and Addictions. I am currently completing my training in Somatic Experiencing, an exciting therapy which works at releasing the symptoms of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and the mental and physical health problems caused by trauma.
I provide a safe and relaxed atmosphere that enables clients to explore their issues and develop healthy coping skills. In both individual and couples therapy, I focus on imparting tools of constructive and clear communication. Over the years I have helped innumerable clients improve the dynamic within their relationships.
Through compassion, understanding, and my experience as both a therapist and a doula of 30 years, I tailor the right modality to each client’s specific needs. My sessions are goal oriented, and most clients see results in a short period of time. I have helped many people learn how to face their challenges with courage and strength.
