Li-Or Goldman BSWClinical Social Worker
I am a social worker, a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (certified by the Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute in 2015) and a Certified Addiction Professional (certified by the Florida Certification Board in 1991). I am also a Certified Facilitator for Parent’s Groups with an emphasis on Aliya and Klita (certified by Seminar Hakibutzim and Misrad Hachinuch 2013). I have over 20 years of experience in the field of addictions in the US and Israel, 6 years in the Body-Mind oriented therapies as well as many years of experience working with olim, helping them adjust to culture shock and acclimatize to their new surroundings.
One of the most important factors in the therapeutic process is the relationship between the client and the therapist, so my priority is creating a safe trustworthy and comfortable environment for my clients, expressing empathy and compassion, and tough love when needed. My approach to therapy is holistic, as no single approach works for everyone. I integrate a number of theoretical orientations and modalities into treatment, depending on my client’s needs. Since encountering Somatic Experiencing® six years ago, I have become a firm believer in the connection of Body-Mind oriented therapies, and incorporate SE® and Hakomi in my work. My degree and background in science serve me well in understanding the physiology and neurobiology which lie beneath the words and the body language of each client.
Working in both English and Hebrew in Ra’anana, I give private sessions to both adults and children, and group sessions to adults. I am also a certified e-therapist, giving phone and Skype sessions to adults.
