David M. Allick LCSWClinical Social Worker
Human beings are amazing and we all have amazing potential lying within us. Today more than ever, we are all faced with many difficulties which add to the struggle in uncovering our unique greatness; the pure spark within. I believe love is an amazing force that helps propel us in bringing out our true greatness and when a person feels truly loved and cared for it imbues them with strength to reach their dreams and stand up under difficult circumstances of life.
My bachelor’s degree is in psychology and I served in the United States Air Force for 6 years. In the military I worked as a recruiter, instructor and industrial organization Psychologist. I left the military to follow a dream of loving people and helping them grow. That dream led me first to become an elementary school teacher in an inner city school. I taught there for two years and it was during this time that I met a school Social Worker who was doing therapy with some of my students. The social worker told me I was missing my calling as a therapist and then I realized that I needed to pursue my dreams further. I decided to go back to school for my masters in social work.
As a Therapist, I have worked in a Community Center with at risk youth and their families, a maximum security prison and I have also done some Hospice social work. In my experience, I have seen the most growth when people feel loved and free to share about themselves in a safe, non-judgmental environment. I believe everything we need is within us already but often we need someone to be present and help guide us in our personal advancement and growth. I believe that Hashem has given me a gift of truly loving people and I hope to have the privilege to assist you in discovering and developing your inner world so you can live the amazing life you were created for.
